Summer Theatre Campus
Grades 5 - 8

Summer Theatre Campus is an exciting musical theatre production camp, located at the beautiful Charles E. Smith Jewish Day School (Upper School Campus) in Rockville. The program is designed for new and returning students who are entering grades 5–8. The focus of this camp is to train young actors in the process of creating believable and sustainable characters for musical theatre. Students work on their acting, vocal and dance technique skills in fun, skill-building classes. Special workshops include; Sign Theatre, Improvisation and Stage Make Up. Part of each day is spent in rehearsal and students are given the opportunity to apply their skills to the production of a well-known musical. See “sample day” below. Auditions for the productions are held during the first two days of camp. This comprehensive musical theatre experience ends in a public performance for family and friends. Each family receives 5 complimentary tickets to the show and will marvel at what their campers have been able to accomplish in four short weeks!

Peter Pan tells the story of a mischievous little boy who refuses to grow up, and his adventures on the magical island of Neverland.
