REGISTRATION POLICIES

 

Imagination Stage is a not-for-profit, tax-exempt, cultural and educational organization which does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, ethnic or national group, gender, or disability.

Registration Confirmation/Receipt
Please allow 6 business days for all registration forms (including online submissions) to be processed. Confirmations of registrations will be sent when a valid email address is provided. To receive written confirmation of enrollment or a receipt for the class, please send a self-addressed, stamped envelope with registration materials. Additional documentation, if not requested at the time of payment, will require a $5 administrative fee.

Refunds
Your full payment will be returned automatically when a class is full or cancelled due to low enrollment. If the scheduled time or location of the class changes after payment has been received, a full refund will be issued upon written request. Imagination Stage reserves the right to substitute teachers as necessary. For all other refunds, Imagination Stage requires a written requeset and assesses a 15% administrative fee plus the cost of any classes attended. The written request must be received by the completion of the second week of classes. There are no refunds after the completion of the second week of classes. *Students in production classes will receive policies upon admission to the ensemble.

Try out the first class
Students may “try out” to as many as the first two classes at the pro-rated cost of each class on a space available basis. If the class fills, Imagination Stage reserves the right to close the class to these students, or ask for a commitment to the full course. Please contact the Registration Manager for details.

Scholarships
Please contact David Markey at dmarkey@imaginationstage.org or 301-280-1646 for details on scholarships. Scholarship application deadline 3 weeks prior o the start of the semester.

Payment Plans
An arrangement can be made to split total tuitions of $400 or more. There is a $15 administrative fee for this service. Both payments must be made by credit card. First payment will be due with registration. Second payment will be automatically processed half-way through the semester. Please select the check box on the registration form to take advantage of this plan.

Two Semester Courses
Conservatories, ensembles and other courses that require a two-semester commitment will abide by the following enrollment/payment policy. Students will be automatically re-enrolled unless the family notifies the registrar by December 15, 2008. Payment for the second semester will be processed January 2, 2009.

Late Registration
Registrations will be accepted, if space is available, until the second week of classes has been held, by permission of the instructor. Tuition will be pro-rated.

Attendance/Make-up Policy
Imagination Stage will cancel any class with insufficient registration, and tuition will be refunded in full. We do not guarantee that classes cancelled due to circumstances beyond our control (i.e., weather, power outage) will be made up; no refunds will be issued. We do not offer make-up classes when a child is unable to attend. Please contact your teacher or mentor if you know in advance that your child will miss a class.

Accessibility Accomodations
Imagination Stage endeavors to create an inclusive and welcoming environment for students of all abilities. Parents are encouraged to provide complete information on the registration form and will be contacted by a member of the Access department to discuss reasonable and respectful accomodations.

Holiday and Inclement Weather
A Holiday schedule will be distributed at the first class. The education Calendar will give you a good idea of when classses start/end and holidays occur. We do NOT follow Montgomery County Public School snow policy. Please call our weather line to find out if
classes will be held 301-961-6060 and press 6 on the days in question, or for up-to-date information on closings or delays.

Late Pick up
Parents will be assessed a $10 charge if a child is picked up more than 15 minutes after class ends, and an additional $1 per minute thereafter. Please pick up on time.

Siblings/Guests
In order to provide a safe environment for your child, siblings are NOT allowed to attend our classes unless the sibling is also registered for the class. Guests may only attend class during the scheduled observation and sharing days set by the teacher.

Photography and Videography
Imagination Stage reserves the right to use photos and videos taken in class for promotional and archival purposes only.

Dance Class Attire
Imagination Stage does not require dance students to wear specific dance wear. Each class has a recommended attire>>

Liability
Imagination Stage is not liable for the well being and safety of children who are around any of our facilities before a program begins or after a program ends.

Release Agreement
Although every effort is made to provide a safe environment, I recognize there is always a risk of accident. I agree to be responsible for any medical bills incurred resulting from illness or injury during my child’s participation at Imagination Stage. Students are expected to carry their own accident and medical insurance. I release Imagination Stage from any and all liability and/or claims or damages arising out of personal injury of any kind. If necessary, I authorize Imagination Stage to administer first aid and/or authorize medical treatment of my child.
