Drama: Create a Character
Our popular core drama class for second and third graders! Students are encouraged to build characters, drawn from folktales and fairytales, by exploring physical and vocal choices. They are also introduced to the concepts of character motivation and environments. In the spring semester, students are encouraged to join the continuing class Characters on Stage.

Drama: Mystery Theatre
A fun opportunity to explore acting and the mystery genre! Students learn about the actor’s tools, dramatic structures, character creation and teamwork to devise a mysterious characters and scenes through improvisation and theatre games. In the spring semester, students are encouraged to join the continuing class Mystery Theatre on Stage.

Acting: Improvisation
A favorite for the sharp of wit and tongue! Students improvise, create zany characters and throw themselves into all sorts of scenarios, the wackier the better.

Actors Who Sing
This class is Imagination Stage’s fun fusion approach to developing appropriate vocal technique, and musicianship and acting skills together. Students explore character-driven songs and scenes drawn from popular Broadway musicals.

Scene into Song
Building on the work done in the “Actors Who Sing” class in the previous semester, students continue to work on their vocal technique and music training while exploring characters in depth through scene and song work. Recommended for students who have taken Actors Who Sing.

Broadway Jazz
Students develop jazz techniques in this exciting introduction to the world of Broadway-style musical theatre where basic ballet techniques are fused into Jazz style across the floor work.

Broadway Tap
Students develop tap techniques, rhythm and musical skills in this exciting
introduction to the world of Broadway-style musical theatre.

Dance Gymnastics
The ideal class for lovers of dance and gymnastics! Students learn elementary jazz and gymnastics skills such as tumbling, flips and cartwheels while building flexibility and strength.

Ballet/Jazz Technique
Students learn the fundamentals of ballet technique and vocabulary and how they translate into jazz dance. Using the music and choreography from favorite Broadway musicals, the class focuses on improving flexibility, coordination and muscle strength while working on center and across-the-floor work.

Hip Hop
This high energy class is a fun workout for all students
who like to move! Students learn age-appropriate hip hop
steps using body isolation, levels and floor work through
upbeat routines.

Create a Film Together
GRADES 2-5
Parent and child team up to learn the basics of film production and video technology while creating a short documentary on a subject of their choosing (e.g. “Our Family” “My Dog” “Our Solar System” etc.). The team develops the concept, shoots and edits the video ready for a family screening. All you need to bring is the popcorn! Class size is limited to 6 student/parent pairs. Teams must be prepared to work extensively outside of class.
