MUSICAL PRODUCTION CAMP, JR
Rising Grades 2-4

BETHESDA LOCATION

Perform in a play at Imagination Stage! Under the guidance of our highly skilled teaching artists, campers learn valuable theatre arts skills in acting, singing, movement, and production design, and creating fun characters for the stage, all while rehearsing a production! The musicals for this age level are written by Imagination Stage faculty members, and are crafted especially to suit performers of this age group. Camps occur in 2 and 4-week sessions for schedule flexibility. 2-week camps rehearse a 25 minute musical. 4-week camps rehearse a longer 45 minute show. Campers share their final performance wiith family and friends onstage in Imagination Stage's Christopher and Dana Reeve Studio Theatre during the final Friday camp day of each session.

The Musical Showcase brings campers together to collaborate on a showcase of the best classic and contemporary Broadway musical numbers. Campers work on their acting, vocal, and dance skills, which they can then apply to rehearsals with their professional directors and choreographers. The session title provides a theme that the performers and artistic staff use to envision an original Showcase performance that is devised, rehearsed, and performed within the two weeks of camp. The final performance is held on the last Thursday of the camp session at 7:30 p.m.

Interested in carpooling to camps at Imagination Stage and our Rockville Campus?
We facilitate carpools by compiling lists of interested families, helping make transportation to and from camp easier! We currently have students registered who live in Bethesda, Silver Spring, Olney, Gaithersburg, and DC. Carpools help campers (and parents!) make new friends, ease transportation time, and help us all go GREEN!
