Ages 3.5-4 and Rising Grades 1-2

Imagination Stage offers 1 or 2 week half-day camps for campers ages 3.5-K (Arts Explorer) and those entering 1st and 2nd grade (Arts Adventure). Using a variety of titled themes as springboards (Adventures on the High Seas, Magic Treehouse, All That's Hip Hop, etc), campers explore creative drama, music, movement, and visual art activities to bring stories to life. On the final day of camp, parents are invited to join the class for the final 30 minutes to see a culmination of the work explored during the session. Camps run from 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. or 12:30-3:30 p.m. (during selected weeks only). After Care is available for the afternoon camps for Grades 1-2 at an additional cost during the hours of 3:30-6:00 p.m.

Rising Grades 3-5 and 6-8

Our popular Week-Long Camps allow parents and campers to mix and match what interests them most! Camps run from 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. and 12:30-3:30 p.m. and cover a variety of topics in acting (Create a Character, Acting 101, Improvisation, Scene Study, etc). Campers can register for a morning session, an afternoon session, or combine morning and afternoon sessions for a full-day experience. Please note: campers who are staying a full day should bring lunch with them to camp. Lunchtime is supervised. Before and After Care is available at an additional cost during the hours of 7:30-9:00 a.m. and 3:30-6:00 p.m.

Rising Grades 8-12

Boot Camps are more performance-oriented and provide students with an intensive and fun rehearsal and performance experience. Each week is titled to provide a theme that the performers and artistic staff use to envision a Showcase/Revue that is devised, rehearsed, and performed all in one week! Songs are selected based on the week’s theme. Some Boot Camps take a look at musical theatre genres (21st Century Broadway and Golden Age of Theatre), while others take the week to explore just one show (Grease, Wicked, etc.). Throughout the week, students are coached in singing, acting, scene work, character building, and dance/choreography. The final performance is held on Friday in The Reeve Theatre at 7:00 p.m. Musical Theatre Boot Camps are only held at Imagination Stage in Bethesda.
