Winter Break

Registration is now open!

Bring Summertime fun to the dreariness of December! Imagination Stage offers jam-packed days of creative drama, acting, dance, visual art, and specialty classes, to enjoy during students’ days off of school (and help working parents while school is on break). Register for one day, or join us for all three!

Please see Winter Break camps organized by age and day below. Click on the day you would like to register for to sign up, or use our search tool!

Ages 3.5-5: Magic Suitcase
What will we find in our Magic Suitcase this winter? Take a look inside for curious clues as to where we’re off to today! Perhaps it’s a chilly trip to the Arctic or a short journey to our kitchens to prepare a delicious family feast.  Hmmm… Maybe we should warm up with a sunny trip to the beach!  During our three-hour mini-camp, students will explore stories that coordinate with the destination revealed by the Magic Suitcase each day. Students will create characters and bring stories through dramatic play, music, movement, visual art, and the use of simple props and costumes. Classes also encourage creative expression and promote confidence while working on skills such as active listening, sharing, and problem solving. So pack your suitcases and join us on a magical journey!

Grades K-2: Story Explorers
In these one-day experiences, students use a popular story (such as “Tacky the Penguin” or “The Story of Ferdinand”) as a springboard for fun theatre arts activities such as creating characters, prop design, and creative movement. By the end of each day, students create these fun characters for the stage and act out scenes from the book using their bodies and voices.  Arts Blast days encourage creative expression and promote confidence and self-esteem while working on skills such as active listening and sharing.  Join us for our other Winter Break dates for a similar experience but with a different story guiding the adventure each day!  After Care is available from 3:30-6:00 for an additional $25 – see below.

Grades 3-5: Theatre Sampler
Spend your day off with Imagination Stage and explore the exciting world of theatre!  Theatre Sampler days are broken up into sections that span popular performance subjects such as musical theatre or improvisation, but also introduce students to aspects of the profession they may not be as familiar with, such as fight choreography, clowning, directing, and production design (including a backstage tour of Imagination Stage’s Lerner theatre, and costume and scene shops!). After Care is available from 3:30-6:00 for an additional $25 – see below.

Grades K-5: Aftercare

After Care is available until 6 p.m. on all Winter Break Arts Blast days. After Care at Imagination Stage provides boards games, cards, basic arts and crafts materials, and may show up to 30 minutes of a movie musical or Disney movie. The teaching artist in charge can also lead games based on student interest. After Care is designed to be a period of unstructured, child-driven play, to allow students time to decompress after the day. Students may also bring a book to read or use electronic devices at this time, if desired.
