Fans of past Hip Hop shows at Imagination Stage will love this radical update of a familiar fairytale. Set in the year 3000, we meet Snow Whyte—a graffiti-artist locked in competition with her arch rival, Kanye East, over which of them makes the “freshest” images in the universe. Both depend on a Simon Cowell-type celebrity called Mira to decide which of them is the best. After her exile to a distant planet, Snow Whyte is sheltered by two rapping alien twins (reminiscent of the Seven Dwarves), and survives two visits from the vengeful Kanye, dressed in crazy disguises. She then uncovers the true secret to talent: that it is shared equally among all people, and not the exclusive property of anyone. Witty raps, cool moves, and a beat that just won’t quit, this show will have you bouncin’ in your seat and shouting “Oh, yeah!”

Summer Camps at American University

This July we’re back with acting and dance camps at American University! Filmmaking Workshops

This month we have the first of three filmmaking conservatory workshops for serious film students looking to learn more! On February 25 and March 4, high school students can take Directing for Film where they’ll learn about script breakdowns, creating a rehearsal plan, and working with actors to create a “memorable performance.” On March 11 and March 18, students can take the Lighting for Film workshop and the Sound Recording and Design for Film workshop to further expand their skill set. Students interested in all three conservatory workshops can sign up for the Filmmaking Conservatory Package to save big!

Spring Break Camp is April 10-14!

We offer week-long Spring Break camps full of jam-packed days of acting, dance, creative drama, and filmmaking to enjoy during students’ days off of school (and help working parents while school is on break)! Registration opens February 15, so mark your calendars!
