Our Mission

Our work is informed by our core mission to produce theatre and arts education programs which nurture, challenge and empower young people of all abilities. We believe that every child needs the arts in their life. Arts participation offers a valuable tool for promoting understanding, facilitating learning, building awareness, increasing self-esteem, spurring critical thinking, providing appropriate outlets for emotion and quite simply for enjoyment.

Our programs reflect our commitment to innovation, inclusion, diversity and creativity

  • Professional Theatre Productions: Our mainstage season features productions ranging from new commissions that reflect our contemporary community, to fresh interpretations of world children's classics. Imagination Stage is at the forefront of developing new plays to push forward the dramatic offerings for young audiences.
  • Arts Education Classes: We offer a continuum of classes for ages 1-18 in acting, music, movement and digital media. We serve close to 4,000 students annually at our facility and satellite classes throughout the region. We use core educational values to inspire creativity and build life skills.
  • Inclusion Theatre: Imagination Stage is a leader in nurturing the creativity of young people with physical, developmental and cognitive disabilities. Access involves hundreds of participants in peer classes, acting ensembles and hands-on opportunities in mainstream classes. The Deaf Access program affords deaf and hearing actors opportunities to train, collaborate and perform side by side blending spoken voice, sign language, music and dance.
  • Imagination Quest (IQ): Through arts-based teaching and learning across the curriculum, IQ works within under-resourced schools to inspire academic achievement through discovery learning. The goal of IQ is to use the multisensory aspects of theatre to enhance student achievement and foster creative and social skills.

Support Imagination Stage Today!

None of this would be possible without the generous support we receive from individual, foundation, and corporate donors. Ticket sales and tuition fees cover only 50% of our annual budget. We rely on contributed income to bridge the gap and sustain the programs that play an important role in the lives of young people.

There are many ways you can support Imagination Stage: as a member, corporate partner, Gala sponsor,or by contributing to the Campaign to Secure the Future. Please join today!

When you make a charitable contribution to Imagination Stage, you can take pride in knowing that 81 cents of every dollar raised goes directly towards funding our theatre and arts education programs.

Thank you for your support!
